About Me

I'm Penny Smith a television and radio presenter, a newsreader and a journalist.

I was born in Nottinghamshire and began my career as a reporter and feature writer on the Peterborough Evening Telegraph.

I co-presented the news on Border TV and then went on to Thames News where I presented with Andrew Gardner.

I then moved to Sky before becoming a presenter on GMTV

I regularly stand in on the Radio 2 Friday Night Arts Show.

I also write for a number of national newspapers and magazines and due to my love of opera I have presented an opera show on Classic FM and presented the ‘Kiri Prize’ on Radio 2, a nationwide hunt to find an opera star on Radio 2.

I'm also a big fan of yoga and have made three yoga videos.

I now co-present the Breakfast Show on BBC London with Paul Ross Monday – Friday.
